dildos

Shiny, pretty things

Until I began contemplating strap-ons, the functional aspect of a dildo was all that I valued. Adding a harness made it a costume, and made me think more about what the product could look like. Whole new vistas of prancing around!

Ultra-realistic-penis style dildos had never really appealed to me, even when I was craving straight-up penetration. Initially I think this was because the commonly available fake penises in my area were trashy and really ugly. Pink plastic veins and what have you.

Consciously considering the appearance of phallic sex toys led me to realise that I like knowing that there are more kinds of phalluses than just penises. Nothing against penises, it just seemed that if I wasn't biologically bound to having a penis, then there was no need to limit myself when selecting a fake phallus. It could look like anything (dinosaurs, dieties...).

My aesthetic preferences at the time conjured up a shiny, smooth, not too big phallus with flames painted up the sides. Since then I've added a lot of other dildo concepts to my wish list, but I never find any that are particularly satisfying in the foxiness department (Do send any helpful suggestions!)

I think the relative lack of dildos with cool surface finishes is mostly due to technical limitations. Glittery, candy-striped, day-glo toys are more and more commonly available, and more finishes seem to be possible in higher quality silicone dildos than in the more common rubber ones.

Lately I've been noticing a lot more dildos made of glass, lucite, pyrex and the like. These tip my wow-scales right over. Pretty!
