Dilly Dong Dang Doo

Oh, it is hard to concentrate on writing this when my lovely rock star friends are playing in the next room. They are doing something very pretty right now. I hope it gets recorded some time so you can hear it too. (Later: it is this).

Meanwhile, Sarah thinks she's going to explain her experiences with dildos.

In my definition, dildos are any kind of phallic object intended to be used for sexual penetration. These can be made out of most anything from rubber to steel to carved potatoes. The most common dildo materials are probably latex rubber, and higher quality, more expensive silicone.

Rubber is fine unless you are allergic to latex, but it is porous and can't be completely cleaned, so latex toys shouldn't be shared without using clean condoms for each person. Silicone can be sterilized by boiling, and allows more variation in firmness and colour effects. When lubricating toys, avoid oil-based lube on latex toys (or if you are using latex condoms - oil breaks down latex!), and don't use silicone-based lubricant with silicone toys for similar reasons (try glycerin-based).

Safety and hygeine tips aside, my own relationship with dildos seems to have developed in three waves. Intriguing, yes?
