sex injuries

However, even with all this half-assed effort at preventing sexual injuries, boy and I both do sometimes get sore. If we are sore because we are rubbed raw, there isn't much to do but wait and heal. Extra lubrication can help in minor situations. With bruises, sore muscles, and sore joints of various kinds, a positional adjustment can fix just about anything. Some observations:

Me lying on my side with boy behind me is a very gentle position, overall and especially for anything back or hips related, but not for menstrual cramps (I feel like I am recommending wines to go with dinner. Hmm).

Me on my hands and knees with boy behind can also be good for my back, depending on what kind of sore a back is. If I am bruised inside from a front entry position, this will avoid the sore area by entering at a different angle. This is apparently also comfortable for some pregnant women, when some guy smooshing their heavy bellies is less than desirable.

Me on top is a good way to let his back, arms, neck and legs relax (or to go easy on his bleeding knees), or to avoid aggravating any bruises on my back or hips, or to let me breathe if I have a head cold. Also I find it can be good if my belly muscles are worn out, but that might be due to my personal style.

Him on top is generally relaxing for my arms and neck, although it is more work for my legs and belly if I get folded up. This is my position of choice if my uterus is sore with cramps, because penetration tends towards my back instead of my other reproductive organs.

Other than that, gentleness can be accomplished by opting for oral sex or touching instead of intercourse, by waiting until a more comfortable time, or just by being mindful and gentle.
